- Platform Tennis is an outdoor paddle sport, generally played in cool or cold weather.
- The court is smaller than a tennis court and is surrounded by tightly strung wire fencing that lets players keep the ball in play after the ball hits off the court and bounces off the screens. The courts are on a raised platform allowing heaters under the deck to keep the court surface in use no matter what mother nature throws at you.
- Scoring is like Tennis except only 1 serve (you do play lets).
- Excellent sport for families to play together. Platform Tennis is a social & competitive sport that is known for camaraderie and good sportsmanship.
- Equipment: Perforated paddle and a dense spongy ball. Loaner paddles available at the front desk and balls available for purchase.
- Platform AKA PADDLE: It’s official name is Platform Tennis but many in New England know and call it “Paddle”
- Court Heaters (HEATS THE COURT, NOT THE AIR!) The Court Heaters are only turned on for Snow & Ice (Moisture). They do not heat the air! Dress warm.
- DRESS APPROPRIATELY: Players should dress in Layers. It can get very cold. Use the warming hut between sets.

Platform Tennis is easy to learn and you can start to play matches as soon as you pick up a paddle, especially if you have racquet experience. If you don’t have any experience playing join one of our Platform Tennis 101 Classes or Book a Private Lesson. Both are great ways to learn all about the game from our Coaches. Enjoy camaraderie and fun on the courts and then warm up around the bonfire, heated covered patio or Hut. Grab a drink at our Self Pour Station (21+) in the Hut or headover to the IceHouse Bar & Restaurant with friends.
