The Kingsbury Club Medfield hosts a variety of adult tennis leagues for our members.
DBH (Dorothy Bruno Hills Daytime Ladies League)
- Ladies weekday daytime doubles league encompassing clubs from the metro-west area, the season runs October through mid March.
- Player’s APPLY in May for the following Season! - Once you APPLY there is a Selection Committee composed of Players from the previous Season voted on by Players.
- 2 Hour Competitive Practices on Mon/Tues depending on your Team Level! Scheduled Matches on either Wed/Thurs depending on your level! Home & Away
- At Kingsbury you apply for Team as an Individual! Not a pairing!
- Central Mass Indoor Tennis Association. – Men’s & Women’s Weekend Singles and Doubles match play, October through April. Kingsbury Club membership required.
- This League takes us through the long Winter Months! Need to be rated a 3.5 or 4.0 USTA Level to make teams and practice times!
- Practices are held weeknights after work and Matches are held on Saturday’s
- United States Tennis Association – Men’s & Women’s Weeknight singles and doubles League from mid May through July. If you are around in the Late Spring & Early Summer these are great Leagues to join during the week so you can enjoy your weekends! We have a variety of League Level’s; please get in touch with our Tennis Coordinator!

Director of Racquets
508-359-7800A native of Marco Island, Florida, Taylor grew up competing in the top levels of Florida tennis. As a top recruit coming out of Florida, Taylor chose to become a scholarship athlete at Saint Louis University, where he played Division I Tennis in Conference USA.After graduating from college Taylor began working for the family business, InnSeason Resorts. Taylor gained valuable work experience in hospitality and marketing. The resorts are strategically placed throughout the Northeast and have given him a solid background in club management. His passion for tennis led him back into the Tennis Industry. Taylor moved to Charlottesville, Va and began working at the prestigious Farmington Country Club. He was the Director of Junior Tennis then was promoted to Director of Adult Tennis, leading active rackets programs that included Platform Tennis.Taylor has been with the club since it opened its doors in 2008. He is a professional Tennis, Pickleball and Paddle player and coach.The staff at the Kingsbury Club works extremely hard in order to ensure our players seize every opportunity and maximize their skills and talent. Hoping to find the right balance for their individual games, Taylor and his staff have developed programs to address our member's complete tennis development.
Senior Staff Professional
508-359-7800After graduating from Bridgewater State College in 1981, Senior Staff Professional Joe McDermott pursued a career as a Teaching Tennis Professional. Joe has held a wide variety of positions in the local area ranging from the Boy's Varsity Tennis Coach at Natick High School, to Staff Tennis Professional at the Longfellow Club, to Head Pro and Director Tennis at Tri-Valley Tennis Club.
As a USPTA Certified Professional with over 25 years of teaching experience, a wealth of knowledge of local tennis and an easy going on court demeanor, it's easy to see why Joe is such an asset to the Kingsbury staff.
When he's not on court Joe resides in Hopedale with his wife of 19 years and 3 active children. In his limited spare time he enjoys golf.
Head of 12 & Under Tennis
Paula's passion for teaching tennis comes from her life-long love of sports and her deep rooted experience working in education, particularly with kids. She graduated from Bridgewater State University with a degree in teaching in 1987, where she also excelled playing varsity lacrosse. After graduation she pursued a career in education teaching both kindergarten and 3rd grade.
Paula put her career on hold to raise her 3 kids but during this time she stayed active both playing and coaching soccer. Paula has a Massachusetts youth soccer coaching certification and currently plays for the Suburban Women's Soccer Association. During this time Paula also became heavily involved in tennis, which she had played in high school and played both DBH and USTA for Kingsbury's women's teams. She went on to garner her USPTA professional certification in 2009 and is recognized for her enthusiasm and dedication, especially with kids and beginners. She is USPTA an PTR Certified!
Paula resides in Medfield with her husband and 3 children. When she's not on court teaching or playing, she enjoys working out at the gym and gardening.
Tennis CoordinatorJillian grew up in Charlottesville, Virginia, and graduated from the University of New Hampshire with a degree in Horticulture.
Throughout college she worked on farms around New England developing a strong appreciation of nature and sustainable food systems. She then went on to work at Apple Computers and started a technology training business and a highly sought after wedding photography service. She brings a strong technology background, dedication to customer service, and a contagious passion for an active & healthy lifestyle centered around the game of tennis!

Head of Program Development & Special Event Coordinator • Ladder CoordinatorAfter graduating from Franklin Pierce University in 2018, our newest Racquets Professional started his coaching career! Andrew grew up in Tolland, CT. Andrew played Division II tennis and was a Four-Year Starter and Scholarship player in the NE 10 Conferenece. He graduated with a Degree in Business Management. He was the former Head Tennis Pro at Orchard Hill Pool and Tennis Club running a great program. He enjoys working with beginners to advanced adults.When he’s not on court Andrew resides in Medfield! In his spare time he enjoys playing golf and is a huge New England sports fan!
Whitney GilchristWhitney has a lifelong passion for all racquet sports - tennis, squash, paddle, pickleball, badminton, ping pong...you name it. If it involves a racquet, she will most likely love it!!
Whitney grew up on a tennis court, competed in USTA Junior Tournaments throughout New England, played #1 Singles for the Winsor School and captained both Varsity Tennis & Squash teams.
After High School she played collegiate tennis and squash while also captaining and competing against Division 1 Teams at Williams College. She spent summers as a teaching professional at the Menauhaunt Yacht Club in Falmouth, MA where she taught young kids, juniors & adults and ran a youth program of over 100 kids.
Jason has been a trainer, strength coach, and educator for over 20 years. He was the owner and founder of APECS, CrossFit Tri-Valley, and Franklin and Medway Speed and Power Academies. He has written a few books including Building a Winning Culture in High School Sports, Butt, Guts, and Other Problem Areas, The In-Season Training Manual, Lean Body Solutions, The Adventures of Little Skidooch Part 1 and 2, worked as head football and soccer strength and conditioning Coach and Adjunct Professor of Exercise Science at Dean College, served as the head strength and conditioning coach for the nationally ranked Boston Irish Wolfhounds Rugby team, sits on YMCA board of incorporators as well as the Cooper Institute law enforcement advisory board, and currently has the honor of serving as the Massachusetts statewide health and wellness coordinator for the municipal police. He teaches seminars around New England including ISAF: Instant Strength and Flexibility, Butt, Guts, and Other Problem Areas, The Bulletproof Officer, and Building a Winning Culture in High School Athletics.
After earning his Master’s in Human Movement, he began traveling around the country and Europe, learning under his mentor, world renowned strength coach Charles Poliquin. Jason was able to earn the PICP Level IV International Strength coach recognition through his work with thousands of athletes, including numerous professional, college, high school and middle school athletes, state champion teams and individuals, College league MVP’s, high school league MVP’s in all sports, high school and college All-Americans, Strongman, Powerlifting and Figure/Fitness Competitors, business executives, MMA fighters and clubs, Ironmen, SWAT teams, military teams and personnel, state and local police and firefighters, BUDS and SWCC operators, and dozens of local high school teams.
The two most important things in his life are his family, especially his two kiddos Ayden and Bryn, and 2: his passion for teaching, educating, and helping others through his work in the fitness/strength and conditioning industry as well as through the various charities he is a part of including the YMCA Integration Initiative and LiveStrong Programs, Dana Farber, and locally in youth sports and health and wellness programs.His specialties include: injury rehabilitation, structural balance and Biosignature evaluation, body composition, off and in-season athlete preparation, Olympic weightlifting and strongman training, and small, large group and team training.
