Taylor Curran A native of Marco Island, Florida, Taylor grew up competing in the top levels of Florida tennis. As a top recruit coming out of Florida, Taylor chose to become a scholarship athlete at Saint Louis University, where he played Division I Tennis in Conference USA. After graduating from college Taylor began working for the family business, InnSeason Resorts. Taylor gained valuable work experience in hospitality and marketing. The resorts are strategically placed throughout the Northeast and have given him a solid background in club management. His passion for tennis led him back into the Tennis Industry. Taylor moved to Charlottesville, Va and began working at the prestigious Farmington Country Club. He was the Director of Junior Tennis then was promoted to Director of Adult Tennis, leading active rackets programs that included Platform Tennis. When the Kingsbury Club Medfield opened its doors in 2008, Taylor started as the director of Adult Tennis, soon after he was promoted to Head Tennis Professional. The staff at the Kingsbury Club works extremely hard in order to ensure our players seize every opportunity and maximize their skills and talent. Hoping to find the right balance for their individual games, Taylor and his staff have developed programs to address our member's complete tennis development. In his free time Taylor keeps busy with fly-fishing, skiing, golf, paddle tennis, and stand up paddle surfing. He is happy to be back in the New England area where he is closer to family, friends, and the Red Sox! Taylor would be happy to answer any questions regarding placement in our Tennis programs. Jakob Klaeson, A native of Sweden, Jakob grew up playing at the highest level of Swedish tennis. As a former Junior Singles and Doubles National Champion his talent landed him a scholarship at Ole Miss in Oxford. As a member of the Rebels, they were ranked as high as 2 in the NCAA and won the SEC Tournament. Jakob personally was ranked as high as 52 in singles and 10 in Doubles. Jakob is a very hardworking and seasoned tennis player. Transitioning to coaching and the current Head of Junior Development, Jakob has found his true role - helping young players educate themselves on how to undertake the right type of work and proper mindset to help reach their goals in competitive Junior Tennis. Jakob has been the Student Assistant Coach at Ole Miss and has been working seasonally in the Boston area for a few years. He has worked at Sakonnet Golf and Tennis Club, Manchester Athletic Club, Dedham Country and Polo Club, and is currently the summer Head Professional at the Manchester Bath and Tennis Club. In Jakob's spare time you'll find him playing golf, a player in the Boston Pro League, exploring New England, and he always enjoys a good cup of coffee with good company. Joe McDermott After graduating from Bridgewater State College in 1981, Senior Staff Professional Joe McDermott pursued a career as a Teaching Tennis Professional. Joe has held a wide variety of positions in the local area ranging from the Boy's Varsity Tennis Coach at Natick High School, to Staff Tennis Professional at the Longfellow Club, to Head Pro and Director Tennis at Tri-Valley Tennis Club. As a USPTA Certified Professional with over 25 years of teaching experience, a wealth of knowledge of local tennis and an easy going on court demeanor, it's easy to see why Joe is such an asset to the Kingsbury staff. When he's not on court Joe resides in Hopedale with his wife of 19 years and 3 active children. In his limited spare time he enjoys golf. Kevin Ostertog Staff Professional Kevin Ostertog is well known in the area for his energetic and enthusiastic teaching skills. Kevin has worked with several local Recreation Departments in building as well as teaching their tennis programs including Milford, Southboro, Dover-Sherborn and Medfield. His coaching skills have been of further benefit to local teens when he served as Varsity Tennis Coach for both the Milford High School Girls Team and the Franklin High School Boys Tennis Team. Prior to joining the Kingsbury Club Staff Kevin was in charge of the CMASS Men's Teams and Play Program Director at the Tri-Valley Tennis Club. His passion for teaching tennis is obvious to everyone who's been on court with him. Kevin lives in Milford with his wife Nona and two children. He enjoys playing competitive wiffleball and playing with his children in his spare time. Joan Cutter Joan Cutter plays a dual role at Kingsbury Club. One of the first key employees to join the staff, Joan has been an invaluable asset in getting the Kingsbury Club off to a terrific start. With experience as Tennis Program Director and Teaching Pro at several local clubs including Suburban Athletic Club, The Longfellow Club in Wayland and the Adirondack Club in Franklin, Joan is equipped to handle just about anything that comes up on court. With her background as one of the original employees at Adirondack Club, Joan was instrumental is establishing and organizing both the adult and junior teams. A longtime resident of Medfield, Joan brings a diverse background in all areas of tennis as a player and coach as well as a program director. Joan's love for the game is evident in not only her teaching, but also in her promotion of the sport as a whole. Having raised 3 children who all competed in USTA tournaments, 2 of which played college tennis and one of which is a full time Tennis Professional, Joan has been deeply entrenched in the sport throughout her life. Joan enjoys playing the game she promotes and enjoys walking her dog and gardening in her free time. Paula Haskell Paula Haskell has been a welcome addition to the Kingsbury Tennis Staff. With over 15 years experience in the tennis industry and a background that encompasses everything from member services, to billing, to payroll and beyond, she has quickly become an integral member of the tennis staff. As the former Office and Front Desk Manager for the Tri-Valley Tennis Club her knowledge of local tennis and players has proven to be a valuable asset. Paula has a grown son and lives in Westborough with her husband. Prior to her tennis life Paula was an accomplished Research Biologist who has been published in a variety of research and medical journals. When she is not working she enjoys a wide range of hobbies including cooking, gardening, reading and painting watercolors and acrylics. An avid tennis player, Paula also spends as much time as she can playing the game she loves to promote. Christen Cadigan A native of Medfield, Christen grew up playing junior tennis in the area. She played four years of varsity tennis, at No. 1 singles, at Medfield HS and was named team and league MVP. She also earned Tri-Valley League All-Star recognition, was a member of the Boston Globe and Boston Herald All-Scholastic teams, was ranked in the top-20 in New England in girls 16's and 18's and was in the top-5 in girls 16's and 18's doubles. After High School, Christen committed to U. of Rhode Island and had an extremely successful college career. She had an outstanding rookie year, emerging as one of the Rams' toughest players, leading the team with 26 singles wins, going 26-10 while moving from #4 up to #2. Christen finished her senior year as Captain of the Rams. After completing school, Christen is looking ahead to a career in tennis. Outside working at the Kingsbury Club, Christen enjoys playing competitively, marathon and triathlon training, and going to concerts. |

Paula Driscoll Paula's passion for teaching tennis comes from her life-long love of sports and her deep rooted experience working in education, particularly with kids. She graduated from Bridgewater State University with a degree in teaching in 1987, where she also excelled playing varsity lacrosse. After graduation she pursued a career in education teaching both kindergarten and 3rd grade. Paula put her career on hold to raise her 3 kids but during this time she stayed active both playing and coaching soccer. Paula has a Massachusetts youth soccer coaching certification and currently plays for the Suburban Women's Soccer Association. During this time Paula also became heavily involved in tennis, which she had played in high school and played both DBH and USTA for Kingsbury's women's teams. She went on to garner her USPTA professional certification in 2009 and is recognized for her enthusiasm and dedication, especially with kids and beginners. Paula resides in Medfield with her husband and 3 children. When she's not on court teaching or playing, she enjoys working out at the gym and gardening. |
